The location at Pier 26 off the West Side Highway was chosen specifically for its “position and clear view of the Freedom Tower”. In honour of the date, Riccardo’s message was one of inclusivity and love, with hymns and prayers spanning several cultures and religions.
Looks were lingerie-inspired but with a dose of dark, evening glamour typical of Tisci, with billowy silk and satin and delicate lace in a restrained palette of black, white and pale yellows and creams. Apart from his new women’s collection, Tisci also included pieces from his couture and menswear shows.
Tisci’s tribe were in full attendance, with his muse Maria Carla Boscono opening the show. In celebration of the brand’s new flagship in New York, 1,200 “real people” attended the show alongside fashion pundits, Hollywood stars and the Kardashian-Wests.
