LFW SS16: Antonio Berardi

This season, Berardi’s collection exuded an air of undone sophistication with his languid silhouettes, which included flowing dresses with billowing trains and silk kimonos that elegantly draped off the shoulders. Contrasting against this fluidity were tailored pieces, which took the form of oversized mannish suit jackets and fitted trousers.

The palette for SS16 was a mix of monochromatic tones, pastels and a splash of bright yellows, red and blue, and amidst the colours, some garments were covered in prints that ranged from retro-inspired patterns to a multi coloured foulard print that emanated a vintage aura. To enrich the glamorous appeal of the collection, Berardi further incorporated lavish embellishments that featured on the cuffs of the kimonos, as well as sequin symmetrical paisley designs that ornamented the garments.
