You’ve seen all the jaw-dropping headgear and face masks at Paris Haute Couture Week Autumn/Winter 2018, and you might have spotted a ridiculous bouffant or two on the runway as well, but have you taken a closer look at the medley of accessories decked on models to complete their ensembles?
As we can’t expect anything less when it comes to couture, mind-blowing moments are always welcomed in every shape and form. This season, warrior-like accessories are stealing the limelight in the form of wrist cuffs (Antonio Grimaldi), neck/chest plates (Givenchy), and chokers (Elie Saab). Shoulder- and neck-grazing earrings are favoured too, some worn on one ear for maximum impact — don’t miss out the hairy earrings from Jean Paul Gaultier — while others taking on a contemporary streak with gilded spirals and 3D prints. We’re loving the miniest of purses spotted at Armani Privé (good enough to store loose change, we reckon), along with chic clutches and sculptural heels to match the luxe fur coats at Fendi.
