The Grammy Awards 2023: Who are the nominees?

The list of nominees for the 2023 Grammys is in! Get ready for music’s biggest night as we celebrate the musicians and artists that have made 2022 a boisterous and lively one for us all.

In terms of nomination numbers, Beyoncé tops the list with a total of nine nominations, including Album of the Year for Renaissance and Song of the Year for Break My Soul. Queen B ties with her husband, Jay-Z, as the most Grammy-nominated artist of all time. Talk about a power couple. Rapper Kendrick Lamar comes in second with eight nods, followed by Harry Styles, DJ Khaled, and Future receiving six nominations.

Whilst Taylor Swift’s latest album, Midnights, has been breaking all sorts of musical records since its release, it will only be eligible for next year’s nominations as it was released after the deadline of September 30. However, All Too Well (10 Minute Version) from her album Red (Taylor’s Version) has received a Song of the Year nomination. Noticeably, The Weeknd is still missing from the nominations list as the Blinding Lights singer once again affirmed his stance to not submit his music for the Grammy committee’s consideration.

Drake has followed suit with his album Honestly, Nevermind as with Silk Sonic who took home Record and Song of the Year for Leave the Door Open at the 2022 Grammy Awards. “We thank the Grammys for allowing us to perform on their platform—not once but twice—and awarding us at last year’s ceremony,” Bruno Mars stated in an interview with Rolling Stone. “We’d be crazy to ask for anything more.”

Officially known as the 65th Grammy Awards, the prestigious music award show will air live on February 5, 2023 from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena after two years away from the venue. Hosted by The Daily Show comedian Trevor Noah, the 2023 Grammy’s sees the introduction of several new categories, such as Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical). This award is made to celebrate the work of “non-performing and non-producing songwriters,” which means the likes of Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran won’t be up for nomination. Others include Best Americana Performance, Best Spoken Word Poetry Album, Best Score Soundtrack For Video Games and Other Interactive Media, and more.

Without further ado, here are the biggest nominations for the 2023 Grammy Awards.
