It all began with Portobello mushrooms. Artist Carl Warner came across them at a market and thought they resembled a tree from an alien planet. Warner – who previously worked as an advertising photographer for several decades – ended up buying them along with some rice seeds and beans, not to cook a healthy, but to create his first “foodscape.”
Since then, Warner’s stunning artworks have been composed of food items, expanding to pretty much anything such as clothes, electronics and the human body. Using these everyday items that often go unnoticed in the world of art, Warner’s works are a fine example that art has no limits.
