9 K-pop Songs If You Love Huntrix from ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’
Girl power
Can’t stop listening to ‘Golden’? Don’t worry, you’re not the only one. Netflix’s animated film, Kpop Demon Hunters, which follows a trio of K-pop superstars by day and demon slayers by night, was an entertaining blockbuster, but it was the original music that made a pitch-perfect lasting impression.
After all, the girls use their voices to power the honmoon, a mystical shield that protects their world from the underworld. They’re one step away from turning the honmoon golden and permanently sealing the ghouls away until demons disguised as a rival K-pop boy band thwart their plans.

Performed by fictional K-pop girl group Huntrix (also stylised as Huntr/x), ‘Golden’ quickly captivated audiences upon its premiere on 20 June. Now, the trio are not only dominating charts but also taking over actual K-pop groups in the process.
To say ‘Golden’ is a certified summer smash hit would be an understatement. Significantly, Huntrix became the first female K-pop group to reach number one on the US Spotify daily chart, showing the reach and impact of Kpop Demon Hunters’ music outside of the K-pop community. Most recently, the song hit number one on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.
Whether you’re looking for similar songs to ‘Golden’, ‘Takedown’, ‘What It Sounds Like’, and ‘How It’s Done’, we’ve got you covered. Ahead, discover nine K-pop girl group songs to add to your Huntrix-inspired Kpop Demon Hunters playlist.
TripleS – ‘Girls Never Die’
Performed by all 24 members of TripleS, ‘Girls Never Die’ is a feminist anthem about the power of sisterhood and believing in yourself in the face of failure. “Nothing will scare us now / Wanna start again?” the lyrics read. With its minimal yet emotive instrumental and powerful message of hope and courage, ‘Girls Never Die’ echoes the trials Huntrix face against Saja Boys, and how the trio worked through their misunderstandings and failures to come out even stronger and closer together.
BlackPink – ‘Ddu-Du Ddu-Du’
If you lean more towards Huntrix’s edgier songs, ‘Ddu-Du Ddu-du’ is right up your alley. Perfectly balancing the booming bassline and beat drop of ‘How It’s Done’ and the spunky lyrics of ‘Takedown’, Blackpink’s head-bopping banger captures Huntrix’s badassery with a good mixture of vocals and rap. “I may look sweet, but I don’t act like it,” Jennie sings, reminding listeners not to take their appearance at face value, or they won’t know what hit them.
Itzy – ‘Born To Be’
Simply put, this song is the closest we’ll get to an actual warrior anthem in K-pop. From its explosive chorus and thunderous instrumentals to impressive vocals, ‘Born To Be’ is the ultimate battle cry that stirs confidence and fearlessness in anyone who hears it. Similar to Huntrix, Itzy sings about their love for the stage and desire to put on the best show for their fans: “Every step I take is in victory lane / I’m about to have this whole crowd going / Crazy like something you’ve never experienced / Can you see what I’ve become now?”.
Aespa – ‘Drama’
There’s nothing like the rush of kicking butt together with your girlfriends and having fun with it at the same time. “I bring all the drama”, Aespa confidently sings. In other words, they’re the main characters wherever they go, something Huntrix can totally relate to as the biggest K-pop stars in the film. Similar to the power anthem of ‘Takedown’, we can totally see the trio strutting onto the scene with ‘Drama’ in the background as they send the demons back to the underworld. Fun fact: Ejae, the singing voice of Rumi and the main songwriter behind Huntrix’s hits, also wrote ‘Drama’!
Twice – ‘Feel Special’
If Huntrix had an opportunity to perform a pop ballad in K-pop Demon Hunters, we have a feeling it would sound something like ‘Feel Special’. Rumi, Mira, and Zoey frequently express their love for their fans in the film, and Twice’s heartfelt song perfectly captures the precious bond between artist and fan. “No matter how the world brings me down / Even when hurtful words stab me / I smile again ’cause you’re there”, the lyrics read. We’re not crying, you are!
IVE – ‘I Am’
Structurally and thematically, ‘I Am’ is the closest K-pop equivalent to ‘Golden’. If you’re a fan of the latter’s soaring chorus, IVE’s song will make you levitate from its light yet punchy production. With a core message of self-empowerment and being unapologetically yourself, ‘I Am’ is every bit a song that fits Huntrix’s spunky confidence.
Everglow – ‘Dun Dun’
This bass-heavy pop-rock banger is the kind of soundtrack we envision in any one of Huntrix’s demon-slaying sessions. Its explosive chorus is punctuated by a menacing melody reminiscent of a predator hiding in the shadows before pouncing on its unsuspecting victims. “Now you’re done / Trapped in my light,” Everglow sings. Pure punk badassery.
NMixx – ‘Dice’
This song differs a lot from Huntrix’s music, which tends to follow a traditional pop formula. ‘Dice’ is energetic as it is experimental, with beat switch-ups and schizophrenic pacing occurring at every corner, but that’s also what makes it so K-pop. Its outlandish elements make the song an entertaining sonic experience, which is important if you want to keep fans interested and engaged. For that, we can totally see Huntrix dabbling into alternative sounds to one-up Saja Boys and other rivals.
I-dle – ‘Hwaa’
Speaking of Saja Boys, one of their iconic looks features their traditional attire, including the jeogori (jacket), baji (trousers), and gat (hat). This blend between the traditional and modern is compelling, and if Huntrix were ever to explore this route with their music, we believe it would sound similar to I-dle’s ‘Hwaa’. With its sentimental yet haunting melody featuring traditional string instruments and choreography with Rumi, Mira, and Zoey in modernised hanboks, this showcase of culture is sure to win fans over!
