Mother’s Day 2023: 6 Luxury watches to splurge on for the hard-working mum

Mother’s Day is coming up soon; have you decided on what to get her yet? While a bouquet, a pampering spa day, or a nice, hearty meal will do the trick, how about getting her a watch this year? Together with lovely moments, motherhood comes with busy days and demanding routines, so it is only right that the best present for her would be a beautifully crafted watch. If you are not sure where to begin, we have rounded up the watches you should check out. Read on to discover six timepieces that she will appreciate.

For the classy mum…

Who isn’t fond of gold watches? The Patek Philippe Twenty~4 Automatic is a great fit with its rose-gold sunburst dial gilding, along with the applied Arabic numerals and hands fashioned from the same precious metal. What’s more, it features a double row of staggered diamonds on the bezel and a hand-polished bracelet, echoing the brand’s current flair. Meanwhile, the Tag Heuer Carrera Date embodies elegance and comfort with slimmer lugs and a sunray silver dial that contrasts brilliantly with the rose gold-plated hands and applied indexes. Intricate details like the light-to-dark gradient ring that fades along the flange elevate the sturdy design. The steel case also houses the Calibre 7 Automatic, which offers a power reserve of 56 hours.

For the mum who’s always on trend…

The new Highlife Ladies Automatic Sparkling by Frederique Constant boasts a sky-blue dial embellished with stardust glimmers and a slew of sparkling diamonds ringing the bezel. Along with the hours, which are signified by jewelled chapter rings, the options of straps—a steel bracelet or a cloud-white rubber strap—add to the timepiece’s unique style. Alternatively, the Ballon Bleu de Cartier makes a wonderful timepiece that will shine on your mother’s wrist. Housed in a polished steel case, this relatively young watch sports a silvered opaline dial with Roman numerals guided by deep blued-steel sword-shaped hands. On top of that, the fluted crown is adorned with a spinel cabochon while the satin-finish bands defy trends and lend a touch of refinement to its wearer.

For the active mum…

The Richard Mille RM 07-04 is an ultra-lightweight watch for women on the go. It’s the brand’s first women’s sports watch, and it comes in a mauve Quartz TPT case that’s anti-magnetic and resistant to extreme temperatures. In addition to its skeletonised automatic-winding movement, this timepiece is highlighted by a push-button at four o’clock that enables one to select several settings with a simple press. The Omega Speedmaster 38mm, on the other hand, is an attractive choice that keeps the style and heritage of the House’s classic chronograph. The lush green leather colourway, as well as the green aluminium ring and the exquisite twist of diamonds on the outer bezel, instantly catches the eye. Other features include a vertical oval date window at six o’clock and horizontal oval subdials that elegantly matched the opaline silver dial.
