BURO Spotlights: Casio Made the Old New Again With ‘Casio Vintage’ Event
Bangkok was burning
Casio’s presence in pop culture has been well-documented. From the calculator watch in Back to the Future to the Baby-G in Lady Gaga’s LoveGame music video, the Japanese brand has shown that its influence reaches beyond the built-in watch enthusiast segment, consistently turning casual customers into captivated collectors. A great many of them were seen at the recent ‘Casio Vintage: Back in Time, Ahead in Style’ event in Bangkok. The huge turnout proved that just like those screen and radio classics, the allure of Casio digital timepieces never went away.
SETTING THE SCENE
To celebrate the enduring spirit of its digital watches, which debuted in the ‘70s and ‘80s, Casio brought the party to The Warehouse. This 900-square-metre creative hub, located in the historic neighbourhood of Talat Noi, was the perfect venue to mirror the timepieces’ staying power. Held from 21 to 23 November 2025, the event transformed the space into a retro-inspired flea market featuring unique vintage finds and local flavours.
At the heart of the experience, of course, were the iconic Casio watches. Spread between two specially curated zones, the brand took the attendees on a journey through time, putting its most treasured innovations from the last five decades on display. While the Vintage Arcade area within the market showcased the classic Casio exhibition, the exclusive Time Lounge area above revealed Casio’s latest models and collaborations.
SWOON-WORTHY WATCHES
One of the major new releases that captured the attention of the guests was the Casio Vintage AQ-240. Marrying the collection’s signature style with modern modifications, the watch sets its octagonal case against a curved bezel. Inside, analog hands and a digital display co-exist in harmony on the sunray-finish dial—available in silver, blue-green, and gold-tone. Echoing the design vision are the oblong horizontal links of the metal band.
Casio also continues to shape its future through partnerships that speak to new audiences. The Back To The Future and Stranger Things collaborations, in particular, had the crowd buzzing with excitement. Not forgetting the beginning of its storied legacy, the brand exhibited some of its notable creations at the event, including the flagship A158WA-1A, the A230, the fan-favourite Casio ring, as well as a number of Future Classic pieces.
STAR POWER
What was once a creation deemed ahead of its time has evolved into a fashion icon embraced by a new generation. So it did not come as a surprise that ‘Casio Vintage: Back in Time, Ahead in Style’ drew a myriad of young trendsetters and influencers alike. Among those spotted in attendance were Thailand’s style stars Force Jiratchapong Srisang, Arachaporn Pokinpakorn, Plearnpichaya Komalarajun, and Todsapol Toptim Maisuk.
Also making their presence felt were our own Yaya Zahir, Nicole Chen, Eros Erfe, Nina Hasnul, Airil Ezuan, Candy Teoh, and Benn Tan. Each dressed to the nines, vying for the Casio Favourite Style prize, they embodied the event’s throwback-with-a-twist energy. Together, they danced the night away to the live performances by regional artists like Thai singer Aboy and Japanese dancer-choreographer Tobita Boxer Atsushi.
