Major watch manufactures’ production come to a halt due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic

As many parts of the world start taking precautions not unlike our Movement Control Order to curb the spread of COVID-19, the watch industry too is taking the necessary steps to combat the pandemic. So far, Rolex, Hublot, and TAG Heuer are among the major watch manufacturers to shut down their production facilities in Switzerland. On the other hand, Swatch Group has decided to remain open, citing an improving situation in China, one of Swatch Group’s (and the whole industry’s really) major markets. Here’s to hoping this dreary veil lifts soon.

Cartier Women’s Initiative 2020 finalists are announced

On to more positive news — Cartier continues to champion the plight of women entrepreneurs with the 2020 edition of Cartier Women’s Initiative. The program is open to impactful women-run/owned businesses from any sector across the world are driven to make a change by finding solutions for the future of our planet. It has come down to 21 finalists from amongst 1200 applications from 162 countries. Each of them will benefit from financial advisory services, 1:1 strategy coaching and international networking opportunities, with seven laureates to be announced in June 2020.

A limited-edition Tiffany & Co. timepiece to drop in stores this April

Tiffany & Co. introduces the Tiffany 1837 Makers Limited-Edition 27mm Square Watch. Inspired by a vintage piece from the archives, the exclusive rose gold timepiece bears the unmistakable hallmarks of the Tiffany 1837 Makers collection, with engravings that pay homage to the brand’s rich craftsmanship-centric heritage on a rose gold soleil dial. Only 150 pieces will be produced, and it will be launching globally in April 2020.

Franck Muller debuts a region-exclusive Vanguard Lady Jewel that is both strong and sensual

Here’s one more for the ladies. Decked in an audacious red hue, the new Vanguard Lady Jewel Asia Exclusive stands out from the crowd with a bevy of brilliant-cut diamonds and sapphires adorning the dial and case, alongside Franck Muller‘s signature numerals. The dynamic lines of the Vanguard shape is juxtaposed by the sensual colour and detailing, making it a dramatic, brilliant addition to any collector’s arsenal. Only 64 pieces will be produced.
