Going to Singapore this holiday season? Don’t miss these brilliant events

We’ve got to admit, we are just a little envious of all the watch and jewellery exhibitions that have been popping up in Singapore this year. And they aren’t quite done yet—here are two more events worth slotting into your itinerary if you’re headed down to the Lion City this month:

Clash de Cartier Studio

When: 15 to 17 November 2019

Time: 11am to 9pm

Where: STPI Creative Workshop & Gallery, 41 Robertson Quay, Singapore 238236

Revel in the beauty of duality and clashing attitudes as Cartier brings Clash de Cartier collection (ICYMI, click here to see the jewellery) to life in Singapore. The Maison’s first and largest ever event of its kind in Southeast Asia, the Clash de Carter Studio will take over the STPI building with an unconventional and immersive setup, allowing you to experience both the duality of the jewellery collection and your own “Clash” of attitudes.

Upon entering the Studio, you’ll be prompted to answer a simple questionnaire to determine which room you’ll begin your journey in: the Bookstore, where one will be able to determine their “Clash” alter ego personality, which is then translated into a Haiku poem that will be typed out as your personal memento; or the Record Store, where you can enjoy the Clash de Cartier playlist curated by renown French sound designer, Michel Gaubert.

Of course, plenty of photo opportunities await within the space. We have a feeling the Café a.k.a. the main lounge area will be a popular spot for photos. Embracing the nature of the collection and the East-meets-West cultures in Singapore, one half of the space is modeled with local décor while the other half sports a contemporary European metallic design. Rest, relax, and recharge with your complimentary pastry and drink here, and perhaps stay till sundown for the live DJ beats from 6pm to close. Admission to Clash de Cartier Studio is free, but do register at this website to secure your entry.

Bvlgari’s Dream Maker Holiday Installations

When: 8 November 2019 to 1 January 2020

Time: 10am to 11pm daily

Where: ION Orchard, ION², 2 Orchard Turn, Singapore 238801

Every holiday season, the ever-bustling Orchard Street gets decked in festive lights and decorations, drawing in throngs of shoppers and visitors alike. This year, one of the most prominent shopping destinations on the street, ION Orchard, celebrates its 10th anniversary in exceptionally glamorous manner—with a remarkable 18.5-metre tree and a light structure installation by Bvlgari manning its entrance.

Taking cue from the Italian Maison’s dazzling jewels, the Fireworks Tree is made up of 100 (you guessed it) fireworks, created using a 15-km strip of LED lights. Topped with its signature eight-pointed Condotti star, the towering installation glittering with joy and colours illuminates Bvlgari’s vision as an unapologetically bold brand, while celebrating the exuberance of the Italian way of life. Standing across it is one of Bvlgari’s most iconic jewellery in larger-than-life form—the Serpenti Necklace Light Structure. An homage to the Maison’s exquisite craftsmanship and creativity, the structure mimics the tubogas design and intricate scaled leitmotif of the Serpenti collection with a stunning array of 150,000 micro LED lights.

Both the Fireworks Tree and Serpenti Necklace Light Structure are designed to be interactive via mobile apps—BVL – Fireworks and BVL – Serpenti, specially programmed for each installation respectively—so you can light up the structures through a series of preset lighting effects with a simple swipe on your phone.
