Get to know: Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, Richard Mille’s latest brand ambassador

Richard Mille is no stranger to the sports world, being the first brand to sign on athlete brand ambassadors who would wear their timepieces at competitions. It was a connection that came naturally, given the Swiss watchmaker’s signature bold, sporty aesthetic. Most recently, Richard Mille welcomed German equestrian athlete Jessica von Bredow-Werndl to its bevy of female sports partners. Like Diana Luna and Cristie Kerr, she wears the titanium RM 007the sleek, sophisticated automatic watch that combines ergonomics and technology with elegant feminine codes.

A talented, accomplished German dressage rider, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl makes for an exceptional new Richard Mille partner for her strength, determination and passion. Born in 1986, Jessica began riding competitively at the end of the 1990s, and qualified for the Federal Championships at Warendorf in 1998 and 1999. Even at a young age she understood the importance of training, practicing yoga, gymnastics, hiking and running outside of riding to keep her mental and physical conditions at their best. Her natural talent, passion and discipline proved to be an effective combination, as she claimed three national titles in Germany, as well as six gold and two silver medals in the European Junior Championships at just 19 years old.

This year, Jessica took home 2nd place finishes at the Amsterdam World Cup Qualifier, the Neumünster World Cup Qualifier and the CDI 5* of Doha (Qatar), and a 3rd place at the CDI 5* of Stockholm (Sweden). She always competed with horses she trained herself, harbouring a deep love and connection for them: “Riding is a very emotional sport as there is a special bond which you develop in a long partnership with your house. I’m a very passionate rider.” Jessica and her brother Benjamin Werndl founded ‘The Home of the Dressage Horse’ in Aubenhausen, Bavaria, where they oversee the horses’ schooling from initiation on through national and international championship levels, while ensuring the horses enjoy optimal living and training conditions.
