SHORT ANNOUNCEMENT: Nailed it
ENTRY: Watch rapper Zamaera, race car driver Jazeman Jaafar, and scrapbook artist Tercia Goh speak on the building blocks of their art form
BODY TEXT:
Literally translated to ‘just a nail’, the Juste un Clou collection was created by jewellery designer Aldo Cipullo in 1971 and has since become a classic, instantly recognisable piece from Cartier. A reflection of Cipullo’s fascination for hardware (his self-proclaimed second home was the hardware store), the bracelet is a gracefully bent nail that wraps around the wrist for a bold and edgy take on refined jewellery that has been spotted on everyone from Kendall Jenner to Brooklyn Beckham.
This year, Cartier introduced its latest update to the Juste un Clou collection which boasts a slimmer and more flexible body, which makes the bracelet much easier to put on and perfect for stacking. Pair with different sizes for a play on dimension and don’t be afraid to break the rules—it’s all about mixing different colours of gold.
The Juste un Clou is a twist on a simple and familiar object, reinterpreted into something beautiful and precious—an iconic accessory that transcended time and trends. Prior to Cipullo’s breakthrough design, who would’ve thought the unassuming, humble construction nail could be so fashionable?
Take a deeper look into the building blocks of creation in its different forms: Music, movement and matter. Below 3 Malaysian talents tell us their origin stories and their forms of self-expression:
Tercia Goh, Journal and scrapbooking enthusiast A nomadic soul, Tercia logs her travels, memories and musings on paper to produce beautifully designed pages in her journals.
