Being the point of a first or last impression of the city, an airport is not just a travel hub but also a symbol of the city it’s in. With that being said, good design, thoughtful facilities, and everything in between have proven to significantly improve one’s experience in an airport, whether it be for a speedy transit run or a longer delay. Thankfully, some of them have become an absolute pleasure to spend even the longest of hours in. Complete with standout dining options, luxury shopping, top-of-the-line technologies, easy-to-navigate layouts, helpful staff, and jaw-dropping airline lounges, some of these terminals have become icons of the in their own right. Skytrax’s World Airport Ratings takes all of the above metrics into account to create its own list of the best travel hubs. Get to know Skytrax’s ten best airports in the world of 2025 below.

 

1. SINGAPORE CHANGI AIRPORT

Appearing on the list for the 13th time, Singapore Changi Airport has become the benchmark of what an exemplary airport looks like. Its Jewel shopping mall needs no introduction with its iconic Rain Vortex and indoor gardens. In fact, travellers can check in their bags up to 48 hours before their flight so they can spend as much time as they need at the airport before bidding the city goodbye. The four-terminal airport and its three runways support over 100 airlines and the millions of passengers—67.7 million in 2024—that pass through its gates every year. It should come as no surprise that the airport has been awarded five stars in just about every category in its Skytrax rating, cementing its status as the best airport in the world. 

 

2. HAMAD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, DOHA

Doha Hamad Airport supports over 30 million passengers annually within its 600,000-square-metre terminal. Within its space, passengers can stroll through The Orchard (its in-house tropical gardens that features over 25,000 plants), kick back in its world-class airline lounges, browse through one of the many luxury retail outlets, or watch their kids get their energy out at one of the bronze sculpture play areas. Though it may have fallen from last year’s No. 1 ranking, Doha Hamad Airport continues to set the bar high for the best airports in the world this 2025. Alongside its second place position, it also bagged the Best Airport Shopping and Best Airport in the Middle East titles. 

 

3. TOKYO HANEDA AIRPORT

At Tokyo Haneda Airport, passengers get treated to remarkable dining options, affable staff, and smooth-sailing service. Having served over 70 million passengers in 2024, it was also named the best airport in the world by passenger numbers. Anyone can agree that cleanliness in an airport can really make or break your experience but no traveller will ever have to worry about “cooties” here, considering it also holds the title of world’s cleanest airport for the ninth consecutive year. Each of its three terminals has been given a five-star rating, a testament to its tireless commitment to top class service and facilities. 

 

4. INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, SEOUL

The backdrop of many a K-pop star airport appearance and countless K-drama scenes, Seoul’s Incheon Airport lands at number four. Excelling in the wayfinding, terminal facilities, and terminal comfort departments, this entry is always a welcome destination on any boarding pass. Passengers can also enjoy the K-Culture Museum during their transits. Incheon Airport serves as the main hub for nine airlines—including Korean Air—and connects Seoul to about 188 cities in the world. In 2024, Incheon Airport saw more than 70.6 million passengers through its gates, who each got a taste of the world-class service and facilities that has brought this airport its laurels. 

 

5. NARITA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, TOKYO

Perhaps one of the most recognisable names in the aviation world, Narita International Airport bridges Tokyo to over 120 cities around the world. Its two main terminals service the three major airline alliances: Star Alliance, Oneworld, and SkyTeam. Meanwhile, the third terminal takes care of low-cost airlines. Travellers will never run out of food options here too as the airport is home to some top notch eaterings, including well-known chains from around the country such as Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu and Ippudo. In its Skytrax ratings, Narita International Airport excels in just about every category, especially terminal comfort and shopping facilities. 

 

6. HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Another worthy name on the list of best airports in the world of 2025 is Hong Kong International Airport. Jumping a whopping six places from its 2024 ranking, this airport has seen recent upgrades to seating, dining, and more. It is also one of the best airports in the world for dining and wayfinding. Over 53.1 million passengers made their way through the boarding gates and departure halls in 2024. Since its opening in 1998, Hong Kong International Airport has served as a vital hub for air travel as well as cargo in the region and has consistently continued to uphold its glowing reputation as one of the best airports in Asia and in the world.

 

7. PARIS-CHARLES DE GAULLE AIRPORT

Falling just one place from its 2024 rating, Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport enters the ratings at No. 7 and as the best airport in Europe for 2025. With an overall four-star rating, CDG—as the airport is more fondly referred to as—has shown major improvements over the last two years to its overall operations. Terminal 2 has pulled through as a main contributor to its high star ratings this year, doing well in the facilities and comfort categories. 

 

8. ROME FIUMICINO “LEONARDO DA VINCI” AIRPORT

In addition to placing eighth on the list, the five-star Rome Fiumicino Airport also bagged the title of Best Airport in Southern Europe. This travel hub is the busiest airport in Italy, processing over 49.2 million passengers in 2024. Over the last two years, its F&B facilities and overall interiors have seen a wide revamp. Plus, it also introduced a new Concourse A departure gate area for Schengen flights, increasing efficiency for travellers. 

 

9. MUNICH AIRPORT

Another five-star European airport on the best airports in the world 2025 list, Munich Airport comes in as Germany’s sole representative in the top ten. According to Skytrax, it shines in the facilities, comfort, cleanliness, shopping, food & beverages, staff service and immigration sectors. There are two main terminals here, connected by the Munich Airport Centre, where passengers can shop, eat, and relax before their flights. Travellers flying by during the holiday season should also make a point to stop by the Airport Centre’s Christmas market!

 

10. ZURICH AIRPORT

Zurich Airport is Switzerland’s flagship aviation facility, which serves as Lufthansa’s main hub. Great for travelling families and frequent flyers, this function-first airport offers passengers well-maintained facilities and services. About 31.2 million passengers flew through Zurich Airport in 2024, making it one of the busiest in the continent. Taking centrestage in its four-star rating is its excellent transport network, which ensures passengers can make their way between connections as well as in and out of the airport seamlessly.
