Welcome to the first weekend of the Raya season! First off, Selamat Hari Raya to all our readers who celebrate. While we’re sure you’re up to your necks with feasting and visiting relatives during your celebrations, the city is still abuzz with tons to do! 5. JOIN THE FERMENTATION MOVEMENT WITH KUNO’S WORKSHOP

The fermentation experts at Kuno are spreading the knowledge of their craft with a variety of weekly workshops this month. Its schedule includes the following classes: fruit wine, vinegar, and kombucha; lacto-fermented vegetables, infused yoghurt, and tempe; rice wines: sake, tuak, and huangjiu; koji and its applications: garum, miso, and amazake. Not only will you learn about the steps in each fermentation, but you will also get insight into the sciences behind the processes.

6. STAY COOL WITH HUMMINGBIRD AND MALLOWS GELATO’S POP-UP

If you’re a fan of Cards Against Humanity and could use a belly laugh or two this weekend, then ‘Just Jokes: Against Humanity’ is the perfect weekend plan for you. This unique show combines improv with stand-up comedy, as the comedians are tasked with bringing you the best jokes based on prompts from the game. Not to mention, the audience is at the helm here as you’ll be in charge of choosing the cards. The lineup includes: Kavin Jay, Papi Zak, Marissa Wong, Mikhail Svrcula, Firas, Mahyar, and Nat Kang.
