Since breaking into the local music scene in the late ’90s, Joe Flizzow has steadily paved his way to being one of Asia’s leading hip-hop artists. After his last release (‘Evo’ ft. SonaOne) in 2015, the man dubbed Malaysian hip-hop’s president is making a blazing comeback, this time with an English single titled ‘Drop’.
“‘Drop’ comes from a very positive place, where we celebrate life everyday no matter the hardships we have to go through,” says Joe Flizzow. The release of ‘Drop’ is accompanied by a music video. Filmed in Phuket, it captures the feel-good vibes of the single with breeze.
With ‘Drop’, Flizzow hopes to take Malaysian hip-hop to another level—to break into the international scene. This perhaps explains the production that went beyond borders for the single; the track was produced by Alif of SleeQ from Singapore, and mastered by renowned engineer Chris Athens from the States.
Joe Flizzow has hinted at more new work coming our way (at least two new singles), so stay tuned!
