It’s a classical music takeover at Ipoh this weekend

It’s a good time to be taking a road trip to Ipoh this weekend. While you’re taking in the glorious food and charm of the city, why not treat your ears to the sweet sounds of classical music too? Kicking off today, the Ipoh Music Festival has brought in talented classical musicians from the country and beyond to the city for a three-day festival that consists of world-class performances, competitions and workshops.

Running from 15 to 17 September, all festivities will be held near the heart of the city at Syeun Hotel. Catch performances by acclaimed local and international artistes, as well as talented up-and-coming musicians from the region at the competitions and concerts. There will also be two engaging workshops over the weekend, namely ‘Purposeful Practice: Strategies and Approaches’ by Dr Andrew Filmer, and ‘Music Entrepreneurship: Fund Seeking and The Entrepreneurial Mindset’ by Eugene Pook.
