How to Keep Your Financial Health and Wealth Goals in Check

Get to know how these four leading women prioritise holistic financial health and value all-rounded banking support with the all-new HSBC Premier.

As much as we wish it was simple, financial health isn’t just about the amount of money you have in your bank account. It goes beyond your daily spending and having a savings account. How a bank supports you in your daily life—from healthcare needs to global travel—is a tell-tale sign of its commitment to ensuring your wealth and financial goals are protected.

The all-new HSBC Premier does all that, and more. Through its award-winning wealth management services, banking solutions, and exclusive rewards, HSBC Premier has become the bank of choice for many. But before you can enjoy benefits, you must first decide on which bank to commit to. We recently spoke to BURO Friends Elaine Daly, Siti Saleha, Debbie Goh, and Vanessa Tevi, who all shared the importance of managing your financial health with a service like HSBC Premier. Find out how our conversation went below.

What does the word “premier” mean to you?

Vanessa Tevi (VT): Premier means being a step ahead, including having access to the best services and opportunities from whoever I’m working with.

Debbie Goh (DG): When I hear premier, I think of first-class treatment and complete trust.

Elaine Daly (ED): The word “premier” in itself represents exclusivity. It’s something tailored for people who want more than just the basics.

Siti Saleha (SS): To me, premier is about priority. It means feeling valued and taken care of first.

What is the value of having a service like HSBC Premier supporting you internationally and as you travel?

ED: It gives me a sense of comfort knowing that my support system doesn’t end at the borders. Being reminded that I’ll have personalised support with my finances even when I’m not on home base in my comfort zone is always priceless. Plus, nobody likes dealing with all the ins and outs of currency exchanges and such on their own!

DG: I love to travel and Premier makes banking seamless wherever I go. Whether it’s Singapore or further abroad, I get the same support and travel perks like miles and lounge access — it just makes the journey stress-free.

What are some things you look for in a bank when it comes to supporting you beyond daily transactions like with wealth planning and even your health?

VT: I think a good bank should be a partner, not just a service. It’s not only about paying bills or moving money, it’s also about having guidance for my investments, planning ahead for my family, and even having access to health and lifestyle benefits that go beyond banking.

SS: When its benefits go beyond transactions, that’s how I know a bank is for me. From annual health check-ups or post-natal services, I value having support for every stage of life. For me, it’s important to know my bank is there for the bigger milestones.

What is the importance of maintaining financial health and literacy?

ED: It’s important to be independent in keeping your finances in check and making sure that you can support yourself through anything. You never know when you’ll encounter a rainy day, so understanding how far your money can take you and how important it is to keep things in order in your bank account is truly so important.

DG: For me, financial literacy is about having control. When I know how to manage my finances, I’m able to avoid stress, plan ahead, and create more opportunities for myself and my family.

VT: Maintaining financial health is just like taking care of your physical or mental health. It takes consistency and good habits. Being financially literate means I can make smarter choices today that lead to freedom and stability in the long run.

SS: Financial literacy is key because it helps me understand where my money is going and how to make it work better for me. When I stay financially healthy, I feel more secure and confident about the future of me and my family.
