7 Things to do this weekend: 4 & 5 March 2023

This weekend is buzzing with so many cool events! The biggest hype is, of course, Blackpink’s concert, and Momo’s Kuala Lumpur is throwing something special for Blinks who are attending the concert (more details below!). Apart from this, there’s the Ichiran Ramen pop-up for the foodies and also some artsy activities for the creatives. Find out more about these happenings in our list below. 

 

1. Go on the SinggahKL Tour to learn more about our local architecture

When: 4 – 5 March 2023 

SinggahKL 2023 is an initiative by the Malaysian Institute of Architects (Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia) in collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival, where the public can go on a guided tour of Kuala Lumpur’s architectural gems and relive their genesis through the lenses of their respective architects. Among the buildings on the tour is Else Hotel, which is designed by Faizah Architect in collaboration with Studio Bikin, so if you have seen the beautiful property in our review, here’s your chance to learn more about its design on the tour!

As part of the Borneo Heart in Kuala Lumpur 2023 tour, Sabahan artist Yee I-Lann will be presenting three photomedia essays during the ‘Allom! Amatai! Allom!’ exhibition at A+ Works of Art gallery for a limited time. The three essaysRasa Sayang, Measuring Project, and Untitled Self-Portraitnarrate the artist’s journey towards the tikar (mat) and ask what it means to let go of mastery and to find new centres proposed by frameworks encompassing unruly bodies organised around forms of kinship, ritual, and womanhood.

4. Dabble in arts and crafts at A Craft Affair Weekend

Meet crafters, artists, and makers at A Craft Affair Weekend where you can dabble in your creative side at the numerous art workshops and booths there. Other than that, there are crystal vendors and tarot readers too for fans of the mystic. Meanwhile, kids can join the art workshops and visit the art gallery led by the students of Dwi Emas International School.

Karwai created these superhero-inspired art pieces to commemorate her strength and breakthrough from her ordeal as a victim of bullying during her childhood.

That’s because the popular ramen chain is having a pop-up eatery at Isetan Kuala Lumpur again after three years—but hurry, as it’s for a limited time only. Head on over to have your ramen fix at its ‘ramen focus booths’ and enjoy a bowl of authentic Ichiran Ramen’s artisan-made noodles with rich and flavourful tonkotsu broth.
