5. Practise yoga with Bowie at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur

When: 10 February 10 May 2023

Where: Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, 50088 Kuala Lumpur

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur presents Mali “Bowie” Tongchu, a certified yoga instructor, treatment specialist and massage therapist from Thailand who’ll be hosting yoga classes and massage treatments for hotel guests and the public for a limited time. Her passion to curate the most suitable classes and treatments for her clients makes her a crowd favourite, so don’t miss the chance to try them out.

“I got to try an hour-long yoga session with Bowie yesterday, and it was such a relaxing experience to cap off a busy work week. Before we started our session, Bowie asked about our fitness levels and if we had any concerns about certain poses. After that, she proceeded with the yoga session, starting with some breathing exercises and stretches as a warm-up.

“Bowie led us through several beginner-friendly poses that aren’t too taxing on our bodies, while also adjusting our alignment to ensure we’re targeting the right muscles. Then, she concluded the class with a calming Tibetan singing bowl, and I was so relaxed that I slept, which has never happened to me before. I take it as proof that her yoga class is as zen as it gets.” —Kye Lin, Senior Lifestyle Writer
