1. Sunny Side Up Market: Merdeka Edition at Slate at the Row, 11am – 6pm, 4 – 6 August

Give some love to our homegrown brands and businesses at this local-focused market. There’ll be more than 35 of them so make sure you bring enough money cos we foresee you might see more than a few things you’ll like.

2. Selangor Food Mega Festival at Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam, 10am – 10pm, 5 – 6 August

One of the biggest food festivals in the state is back and hoping to be even more epic than before. Discover new food trucks and vendors or head straight to the familiar – it’s your choice. (There’ll also be a durian buffet.)

3. Korean Language Beginner I Class at Iloha Culture Centre, Bangsar, 3pm – 4.30pm, 6 August

Annyeong haseyo! This 8-week language course begins this weekend and upon completion, you’ll be able to speak basic Korean expressions for everyday conversation, recognise Korean vowels and consonants, and more.

4. Nikon I Am FX Experience camera workshop at Nikon Centre, Federal Arcade, 2pm – 5pm, 5 August

Looking to pursue your interest in photography? Check out the full range of FX DSLRs and FX lenses with the Nikon technical team on hand to let you try the equipment and answer any of your questions. In addition, there will be a guest speaker who is a Nikon photographer.

5. Introductory to Botanical Painting at Stickerrific, Jaya One, 2pm – 5pm, 6 August

Artist Ratna Rashidi will be teaching simple techniques for watercolour painting to create a beautiful rose from scratch.

6. TREC Craft Army #4 at TREC KL, 7pm – 1am, 4 – 6 August

Instead of shopping at a mall, why not check out this artisan market? There are tons of restaurants to eat at after and if you stay long enough, there’ll be live music performances from 10.30pm.

7. Boozy Brunch at Drift Dining and Bar, Jalan Bedara, 12pm – 4pm, 6 August

The menu includes freshly shucked oysters, cured meats and champagne.
