5 Things that got us hooked on the all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQA 250
Compact comfort
A few months ago, my boyfriend and I had the pleasure of getting to know the Mercedes-Benz EQA 250 over a weekend. Having never driven an electric car before, I was up for the challenge. And let’s be real, who can say no to some time with a luxury car of this caliber? My boyfriend, being an autophile, was happily dragged into this.

Our time with the car kicked off with a media drive up to Mercedes-Benz’s latest lifestyle and retail hub, Star Elegance, located at Hap Seng Star Bukit Tinggi. After about two hours of ooh’ing and ahh’ing at the snazzy space and new EQE models, it was time to go home with the sleek Mercedes-Benz EQA 250. Once our 96 hours with the car were up, we returned it and knew we’d be singing praise about it for as long as we could. Here’s everything that sold us on the car and what we’ve been raving about ever since.
A LOOKER
First things first, let’s discuss looks. The car was a 10/10 in our books, embodying the classic Mercedes-Benz design language taken from the GLA but with a modernised, EV touch. Its LED rear and front light bands add an element of futurism to its overall look, while the 19-inch AMG wheels bring some sporty allure. We were also major fans of its Iridium Silver paint job, which (metaphorically) turned heads on the road.
It’s no surprise that the car also ticks all the right aesthetic boxes on its interiors as well. The customisable ambient lighting made the overall driving experience feel personalised and elevated. On top of that, the backlit trim and door sill panels with the EQA lettering further added to the car’s flair. It was always a joy starting up the car and watching the lights come to life as we got ready to begin our drive.
COMFORT AT THE CORE
Throughout our time with the Mercedes-Benz EQA 250, we had family and friends constantly asking us how we found the car. “It’s so comfortable” was frequently the first sentence that left our mouths. Its interiors made for an extremely plush cabin to spend time in. I’d imagine some “me time” drives would be extremely enjoyable, but so would some long-distance road trips with friends! Its seat upholstery was soft to the touch and the four-way lumbar support adjusted the seat contour to my posture for ultimate comfort. I also didn’t know steering wheels could be comfortable until I laid my hands on the one in the EQA.
Apart from the tangible comforts in the car, its soft suspension and smooth power delivery also contributed to our easy driving. Another feature that might go unappreciated is the incredible sound insulation in the car, which we both noted during our drive to Bukit Tinggi along a busy highway. Despite passing large trucks and lorries on the road, the disturbance was minimal, which was a major plus point for us. Not to mention, the electric motor was barely audible too!
CITY DRIVING COMPANION
Driving in Kuala Lumpur isn’t for the faint of heart. Yet, the EQA got us out and about with ease. Its compact size and the Active Parking Assist meant that it was easy to slot into any empty (and legal) parking spots we managed to hunt down. Driving through smaller lanes and tight parking lot ramps was also less of a nerve-wracking experience than it usually is. Despite being known as a compact car, there was still tons of room inside for us to pick some friends up to carpool to dinner together. Furthermore, the car could go the whole weekend without needing a charge, so safe to say my range anxiety was at a minimum!
LET’S TALK POWER
Though compact, the Mercedes-Benz EQA brings with it a ton of power. While comfortable and easy to drive, we also got some thrill on each drive thanks to the car’s impressive torque. Overtaking and highway cruising were a breeze and we never felt skimped on strength. No matter the driving conditions he EQA was always up for the challenge and never failed to succeed!
A TASTE OF THE FUTURE
To match the EQA’s undeniable futuristic appeal, it features top shelf tech from the intuitive MBUX multimedia system to the head-up display. Fuss-free creature comforts such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available to make the drive tailored to you with some elevated familiarity. We also didn’t have to worry about our phone batteries running flat either as the car is kitted out with a wireless charging pad by the console Not to mention, its arsenal of safety features put our mind at ease during our weekend with the EQA. The Blind Spot Assist and Active Distance Assist were my two favourites, while my boyfriend took a liking to its Active Parking Assist.
