10 Must-visit Instagram-worthy cafes in KL and PJ

Nowadays, the perfect café is made up of three things: good food, good coffee (or your preferred beverage), and an aesthetically pleasing design with picturesque décor much like what you would save to your Pinterest board. If you’re looking for a place in KL and PJ that checks all three boxes, here are 10 Instagram-worthy cafés you absolutely need to visit.

1. Dou Dou Bake

Nestled within a quiet neighbourhood in PJ is a picturesque biophilic bakery, Dou Dou Bake, where the sun shines through floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the neutral-toned space. At first glance, this artisanal bakery cafe may seem like any other shophouse with natural greenery sprucing up its outdoor garden. But as you make your way further into the bakery, you’ll find a lush green scape by the entrance—bringing life to the bakery’s industrial design. Aside from offering an aesthetically pleasing backdrop, the bakery also serves a variety of heavenly pastries that will make you forget about taking Instagram photos once you get a taste of their buttery delights!

Ruma Puteh has been the talk of the town since they opened their doors in early 2021, dubbed as one of the most Instagrammable cafes to visit. Although its name means ‘white house’ in Malay, the café boasts vibrant and colourful décor creatively designed for plenty of photo ops, including a room completely painted in blue and another painted in striking orange! Arguably what stands out the most is the cafe’s minimalist multi-arch walkway, lined up like dominoes leading up to the entrance of the eatery and forming the centrepiece of its outdoor garden.
