7 New food vendors you should check out at Tiffin At The Yard

Founded in 2016 from Malaysians’ love for food and drinks, Tiffin is a multi-layered culinary platform that creates dining experiences for those with adventurous palates. Now, seven years later—after finding its permanent home in Sentul Depot in 2021—Tiffin is still constantly bringing new food experiences to try.

The culinary playground has recently revealed its lineup for the rest of the year to bring the community together with good food and good company. As it is a versatile space, the experiences on the ground change every month, so you can look forward to monthly programmes, extended operating hours, magazines and games corner, collaboration pop-ups, unique food vendors, thematic evenings and more! You’ll also be able to enjoy a range of Tiffin’s specially crafted cocktails or unwind with its Buy-One-Free-One Thirsty Thursdays on all drinks (even the non-alcoholic ones!).

That’s not all, Tiffin At The Yard also gives independent homegrown brands a place to thrive in the city. Every brand in the space has its unique edge, with ideas that constantly push the boundaries on flavours and culinary innovation—a theme that’s adjacent to the Tiffin DNA.

A post shared by Not just a laksam shop (@boredhanan)

Bored Hanan takes her home-cooked meals to the centre stage—and laksam is the star of the show. Originating from the regions of Kelantan and Terengganu, this flavourful dish consists of rolled rice noodles that are served with a creamy fish broth, then topped with various vegetables like sliced cucumbers or green beans and sambal.

Although the menu is small, it packs a punch. Bored Hanan has three fixed dishes that have traditional and fusion flavours; laksam in kuah putih Terengganu with kesum oil, fried laksam in cream of broccoli with lemon caviar, and laksam in salmon head Sri Lankan Curry with fried curry leaves.

JOSHIJOSH CATERING

In line with their mission, “Keunggulan Untukmu”, which means excellence for you, Joshijosh Catering serves up a variety of Malaysian dishes. From the tangy asam laksa to charred yet juicy satays, and refreshing Tong Shui, Joshijosh takes comfort food to the next level.

PULP X BREAKFAST ROOM

This collaboration between Pulp and Breakfast Room sees the perfect start to your day for you to grab a coffee to-go or bite into a hearty breakfast meal. Pulp is known for its coffee that’s roasted in small batches to bring out the unique flavours and profiles of the beans. The Breakfast Room, albeit new, has gained an impressive following and serves up a wide variety of dishes like English Muffins, breakfast sandwiches, and the good ol’ English breakfast.

ALTA BURGER

Alta Burger is the extension of Alta Cafe, a neighbourhood cafe located in Bangsar. Its stall in Tiffin serves their burger menu. The brand believes in sourcing the freshest ingredients to ensure you bite into an impeccable burger.

THE CHICKEN CLUB

The Chicken Club is the brainchild of Gary Anwar from Michelin-selected restaurant Ember. His philosophy is simple: delivering a good quality meal by sourcing the best ingredients. The brand came to be from his desire to serve up a simple meal that’s comforting to most.

TOKO MAKAN MAHARAJA

If you’re looking for a place to satisfy those street food cravings, then here’s the spot for you. Toko Makan Maharaja serves authentic Thai street food like Khai Pat, Thai red curry, and Pad Thai.

AUNTIE TOK’S

Finish off your meal on a sweet note at Auntie Tok’s. The vendor serves up the “best homemade sirap” and an assortment of shaved ice. From fruity flavours like the Sweet and Sour Slush to classics like ABC, there’s bound to be a dessert for you.
