3 New bars in KL to check out this weekend

1. Pahit

bar pahit kl

There’s a new (watering) hole in the wall and it’s built with such rustic charm that you might get too cosy to want to leave. But it’s really the drinks that you should stay for—if you like gin. Co-founded by CK of Coley, expect a wide variety of gin and concoctions that easily and smoothly accentuates the base flavour.

Address: 3, Jalan Sin Chew Kee, Kuala Lumpur

Opening hours: Tues – Sun

Phone number: 03 2110 0776

2. Ray

ray bar kl

The brainchild of Omakase + Appreciate’s Karl and Choca Foodstore’s Shin, Ray intends to impress guests with (experimental) cocktails on tap. And considering both owners’ keen eye for interesting flavours and impeccable interiors, it might soon be one of your favourite places to drink at.

Address: 156, Jalan Petaling, Kuala Lumpur

Opening hours: 3pm – 11pm (Tues, Weds, Sun), 5pm – 1am (Thurs – Sat), closed on Mondays

Phone number: 03 2022 1100

3. Jack Rose Kuala Lumpur

jack rose bar kl

After months of anticipation (and pop ups), Jack Rose is officially open for business. Cocktails seem to be a specialty here although the Claypot Negroni has caught our interest.

Address: B1, Wisma E & C, Lorong Dungun Kiri, Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur

Opening hours: 5pm – late, closed on Sundays and Mondays

Phone number: 012 689 0020
