#BUROEats: 7 New cafes and restaurants to check out in December 2021

1. WIP on the Park

After much anticipation, The Souled Out Group has officially unveiled the latest addition to its F&B empire with the opening of WIP on the Park last October. Occupying the space where Tujo once was, the new gastro-lounge will mirror its sister establishment in Bangsar Shopping Centre—offering a chic, urban tropic oasis for city dwellers.

The venue boasts 10,000 square feet of space, featuring contemporary interiors with verdant walls for those who prefer indoor dining, as well as a lush patio for those who enjoy an open-air experience. There are over 100 local and international dishes as well as an extensive range of specialised wines, beers, whiskies, gin, rum, vodka, brandy, tequila, and craft cocktails on the menu to cater to varying dining and drinking preferences.

Bangsar is well-known to be a breeding ground for cafes and dessert shops, the latest of which is Plump by Tao Bakes Cakes. Its tongue-in-cheek name hints at the assortment of mini cakes in store that will probably (definitely) plump you up; but who’s counting calories when you have mouth-wateringly divine Pistachio Cakes and Earl Grey financiers to sink your teeth into? Even those indifferent to desserts may be tempted for a bite, or simply pop by for a cuppa in the laid-back, tropical-themed space.

Set apart by its bright yellow façade, Nothing Fancy is OUG’s latest restaurant that’s a little more elegant than its name suggests. Inside, soft pastel hues and understated furniture make up its contemporary interiors. As for the menu, expect a mix of breakfast and brunch favourites, as well as pastas, coffee, and desserts (including vegan-friendly options!).

6. The Den

Blink and you might miss this unassuming neighbourhood café, located at the corner of an old flat in Yu Lek, Cheras.
