Gucci now lets you DIY your very own Dionysus

Face it—who doesn’t like it when you can customise your own accessories, especially when it’s the stunning Gucci Dionysus that is pretty much this season’s It bag? Gucci has recently rolled out its “DIY” service that enables customers to personalise selected products, with the first manifestation currently at the Gucci flagship store in Milan. Inspired by creative director Alessandro Michele’s philosophy that how you feel is best expressed through the way you dressed, the DIY service also references punk culture—something that Michele has always been fascinated with.

Get your Dionysus embroidered with a variety of trims, hardware and monogrammed initials according to your preference. Customisation is available for both large and medium-sized Dionysus bags, with choice of embroideries including flora and funa motifs from the Gucci Garden such as butterflies, bees, dragonflies, snakes, roses and peonies; trim varieties such as crocodile, python and suede; and monogrammed Swarovski crystals letters in a range of hues. If embroidery doesn’t pique your fancy, get the Dionysus Top Handle’s plain models in four choices of leathers and a whopping 18-shade colour palette. Details aren’t missed out on with the striped models that are available in ‘moon’ leather crocodile, where you can choose from 12 colours to create the stripes with. Rest assured that no one will sport the exact same Dionysus as you after you’ve creatively expressed yourself with this customisable service.

Gucci DIY will be available globally at other Gucci boutiques in major fashion cities later on, and this service will also be extended to Gucci’s Ace sneakers and Princetown shoes, as well as men’s and women’s ready to wear pieces and Gucci’s men’s made-to-order program.
