But what is ‘Hot Girl Summer’? It all started in May when American rapper Megan Thee Stallion released her most recent album, Fever in May. The album art reads “She’s thee hot girl and she’s bringin thee heat”. And because we’re in the height of summer, avid fans rehashed it into…you guessed it, ‘Hot Girl Summer’. And the rest is internet history. According to Stallion herself, the phrase means “Being a Hot Girl is about being unapologetically YOU, having fun, being confident, living YOUR truth [and] being the life of the party.”
