There’s no such thing as Monday blues during awards season. Being on the other side of the world, waking up to a slew of celebrities dressed to the nines definitely perks up one’s morning. This week on the awards season roster is the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Following the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards, Hollywood’s greatest thespians showed up once again with their red carpet looks.
Pink was the popular choice of the night. Emily Blunt stunned in a floor-length rosy pink halter dress by Michael Kors Collection, with dramatic ruffles to boot while Yara Shahidi wore a look from Fendi Couture Fall 2018 — a sequinned latex onesie under a sheer tulle dress was a refreshing take on red-carpet dressing. Laura Harrier kept jewellery at a minimum with her shocking pink off-shouldered gown by Loewe while Gemma Chan made our hearts flutter in a tiered ruffled gown by Oscar de la Renta.
Ivory also proved to be a strong contender. Lady Gaga showed off a whole lot of leg in a Dior Haute Couture gown, Danai Gurira kept it simple in a fitted column dress but turned it up with ostrich feathers and Chris Pine was a sight for a sore eyes in an all-white suit by Ermenegildo Zegna XXX. Fresh off the Chanel Pre-Fall 2019 runway, Margot Robbie donned a gilded gown from the Egyptian-inspired collection while This Is Us star Lyric Ross made her SAG Awards debut in a fully pleated dress that fanned out at the neckline.
