Critics' Choice Awards 2019: Best dressed celebs
Red carpet ready
Awards season is well underway kicking off with the Golden Globes last week. Next up on the roster: the Critics' Choice Awards. Celebrities turned up at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California for the 24th edition of the annual ceremony, with Taye Diggs as the host of the night. Polkadots and pantsuits were the recurring trends. Julia Roberts donned a trouser-dress hybrid, a silhouette similar to the one she pulled off at the Golden Globes just last week. Same goes for Elsie Fisher in a black suit by Thom Browne and Rachel Brosnahan was a vision in white wearing Nikos Koulis and Ana Khouri jewels. Spotted: Tv legend Judith Light in oversized polkadots that flowed to the floor and on the smaller scale, Olivia Munn looking as cute as a button in a ruffled spotted number while Jameela Jamil shimmered in shiny sequins with an off-shoulder Oscar de la Renta gown.
'Twas a night of plunging necklines, too. Amandla Stenberg, Laura Harrier, Elizabeth Olsen, Kiki Layne and Emmy Rossum showed their sensual sides as they highlighted their décolletage. Brianna Hildebrand, Darren Criss and Lady Gaga vyed for the cream of the crop in hues of nude while the ladies of Crazy Rich Asians Michelle Yeoh, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan and Constance Wu brought their A-game in differing shades of red and pink.
