Just in: Kim Jones is leaving Louis Vuitton

After 7 years as Louis Vuitton’s menswear artistic director, Kim Jones is set to leave his post after the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2018 show this Thursday. Jones graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2002, and has garnered multiple accolades in his career, including the British Fashion Council’s ‘Menswear Designer of the Year’ in 2006 and 2009.

The English designer made his debut for Louis Vuitton during the Spring/Summer 2012 season, and his tenure with the French fashion powerhouse further cemented his reputation as one of the leading designers in menswear, having headed some of the brand’s most notable projects and collaborations (Supreme, anyone?).

Michael Burke, Louis Vuitton’s chairman and CEO, lauded Jones’ talent and determination, as well as his “ability to set trends”. He told WWD: “It has been a huge privilege to work with Kim. All of us who have been fortunate to work with Kim wish him continued success in his next venture.”

Jones has not indicated what’s next for him just yet, but there has been speculation linking his name to Versace and Burberry—time will tell. For now, we look forward to what’s in store for his final Louis Vuitton showcase this Thursday. Stay tuned!
