Here’s how Loewe and supermodel Doutzen Kroes are saving the elephants

Remember the cult-favourite Loewe elephant bag that’s been spotted all over the fashion week sidewalks? The brand has now launched a limited edition variation, and this time, it’s for a special cause. Together with the Knot On My Planet campaign featuring global ambassador Doutzen Kroes, they aim to bring an end to elephant poaching and the illegal ivory sales in black markets.

Highlighting the popular Tan Elephant Mini bags, the brand has engaged the Kenyan women in the Samburu workshop to give their own spin, with intricate handcrafted beadwork for that extra flair. The Samburu people have always shared a special relationship with elephants due to their spiritual beliefs, as they think that the animal is very similar to humans. Aside from its cute factor, what we love most? 100% of all sales proceeds will be donated to the Elephant Crisis Fund. A joint initiative between Save The Elephants and the Wildlife Conservation Network (that are in partnership with the Leonardo Dicarpio Foundation), the money raised will be deployed to elephant conversation projects across Africa and Asia.
