Fashion buzz: Fendi and Longchamp launch e-commerce in Malaysia, Blackpink’s Jisoo stars in a special Dior campaign, and more
Bottega Veneta Salon 01 collection
Two months after Bottega Veneta showcased its Spring/Summer 2021 collection (dubbed the Salon 01) to select fashion editors and celebrities (including Kanye and North West, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and more), the brand has finally unveiled the line through a new film.
Playing with the idea of fashion in a post-pandemic world, creative director Daniel Lee explores the relationship between routine and the desire to be free. While silhouettes exude a sense of ease, and fabrics are soft and cosy, the looks are all made with precision and control—tailoring and handcraft add to their desirability.

Dior Men Pre-Fall 2021 collection
While Bottega Veneta stayed close to home for its latest collection, at Dior Men, it was the opposite. Creative director Kim Jones looked to the future with a collection that fuses heritage and technology, and a digital show that can be experienced globally.
This round, the designer collaborated with American artist Kenny Scharf who’s known for his street art-meets-cartoon culture aesthetic, and to give the artwork the spotlight they deserve, they’re translated onto clothing using the Chinese Seed embroidery—one of the oldest embroidery techniques in the world in the world.

Dior taps Blackpink’s Jisoo for a special campaign
Aside from being in the hottest K-pop girl group right now, the Blackpink members are also some of the most loved fashion darlings across the globe. There’s Jennie at Chanel, Lisa at Celine, Rosé at Saint Laurent, and at Dior? There’s Jisoo.
Before the year ends, the 25-year-old starred in a special campaign featuring an icon of the French Maison—the Lady Dior. From the classic design to the updated Lady D-Lite bags, Jisoo can be seen posing around the set with the accessory, and dressed in equally stylish ‘fits. This might just be our new #wfh inspo.

Melinda Looi’s Cruise 2021 collection is an ode to friendship
There’s no denying that the pandemic has taught us a few lessons this year, and one of them, is the importance of friendship. And the theme for Melinda Looi’s Cruise 2021 collection is just that.
Staying true to her fun and eccentric aesthetic, looks range from cheongsams to printed co-ords and easy separates, and in the campaign images, they’re worn by the designer’s friends from different walks of life.
