Chanel unveils its Métiers d’Art 2021 collection
A year after our magical Métiers d’Art experience in Paris, Chanel has staged its 2021 show at the Château de Chenonceau in Paris. Also known as the Château des Dames (Castle of Ladies, in English), the estate was designed and lived in by Catherine de Medici and Diane de Poitiers, who were King Henry II’s wife and royal mistress respectively.
Looks-wise, creative director Virginie Viard took inspo from the showspace, with largely black and white looks that are equal parts glam and goth. The chequered motif on the floor can be found in the form of embellished co-ords and maxi woven skirt, and the warm colours of a tweed cape is reminiscent of the tapestries of the castle. To amp up the Renaissance flair, ruffles, elaborate pearl accessories, and cone-shaped hats (an ode to Hennin), complete the ensembles.
As France is currently on lockdown, no guests were invited except for one—Kristen Stewart, who was also announced as the muse of the collection’s campaign. We could definitely see the actress nailing the looks.

Natacha Ramsay-Levi steps down at Chloé
After four years at the helm, Natacha Ramsay-Levi has announced that she’s stepping down as creative director of Chloé. In a statement, the French designer said: “Over the last months of health, social and economic turmoil, I have thought about the changes I want to see in our industry and how to better align them with my own creative, intellectual, and emotional values. It is the reflection that makes me consider my future differently and desire to pursues new opportunities.”
Chloé thanked the designer for her contribution to the brand via an Instagram post, captioning it with “Thank you, Natacha Ramsay-Levi from the Chloé family for these beautiful four years as our creative director, continuing the proud tradition of women who have designed at the house. You have defined a meaningful vision of femininity and strength that has touched and inspired us all. With gratitude and love, we wish you a bright future.”
Natacha Ramsay-Levi succeeded Clare Waight Keller in 2016, and at Chloé, she’s known for injecting a cool, sartorial flair into the brand’s signature romantic-bohemian aesthetic.
Zendaya is the face of Valentino
Actress and singer Zendaya has solidified her fashion cred over the recent years, and now, she has been named as the new face of Valentino. “The reason why we chose Zendaya as the new face for Valentino is because she perfectly embodies and represents what Valentino is and stands for, today. She is a powerful and fierce young woman that uses her talent and her work to express herself, her values and her generation as well,” creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli says in a statement.
In her first campaign, Zendaya dons a black lace number and a white flouncy dress while clutching the Italian Maison’s Garavani Roman Stud bag. We can’t wait to see what’s to come.
#BossTogetherMY is back with its latest partnership
ICYMI, Hugo Boss launched a #BossTogetherMY campaign earlier this year that aims to support local F&B restaurants during these trying times. Following its partnership with Siti Li Dining back in October, the brand has announced its latest partnership for the holiday season—Kenny Hills Bakers.
A well-loved neighbourhood bakery, Kenny Hills Bakers has specially curated a menu in conjunction with the launch of the brand’s holiday capsule collection with New York-based artist and illustrator, Justin Teodoro. The five-course meal includes three appetisers (chicken liver parfait, lobster bisque, and a festive salad), one main (Christmas Turkey), and a delectable dessert.
10 per cent of the proceeds from the menu will be donated to The Lost Food Project. The exclusive collaboration is available for dine-in only at Kenny Hills Bakers, Bukit Tunki, from December 11 to 25.

Bernard Chandran’s ‘Dreams & Reality’ exhibition is now open to public
As one of Malaysia’s foremost designers, Dato’ Sri Bernard Chandran needs no introduction. And after 34 years in the fashion industry, the designer, who’s hailed as the “King of Fashion” locally, is celebrating the momentous milestone with the launch of his ‘Dreams and Reality’ exhibition at Fahrenheit 88, KL. Fashion fans will be able to check out his work throughout the years, from his elaborate traditional looks to his ultra-modern creations. Our favourite "room" from the retrospective? The Studio, where the designer replicated his atelier from back in the day, complete with his first cash register, the first dresses that he made, newspaper cut-outs, and more.
Bernard Chandran’s ‘Dreams & Reality’ exhibition is located at Fahrenheit88, Kuala Lumpur, from December 7, 2020 to January 15, 2021. Admission is free.
