Dressed up Fridays: What to wear to a garden wedding

Got an invitation to a garden wedding but unsure of what to wear? For obvious reasons, something light and breezy always works in our humid climate. If you’re tired of all your usual go-to floral frocks, here’s what you need to look fashionably chic without overdressing for the occasion:

Before you think that it’s too obvious to wear a floral silk dress to a garden wedding, just take a moment to appreciate the beauty that is this Alexander McQueen Spring 2016 number. From its asymmetrical ruffles and 17th-century-inspired florals, it evokes a vintage sentiment that’s perfect for you to blend in with the flora and fauna at a lush green setting (without breaking into a sweat).

All you need next is a few inches to heighten your frame so that your dress doesn’t trail on the ground. This nude leather pair of sandals from Brian Atwood fits the theme perfectly, especially with its dainty laces and mid-height heel length.

What other spring-worthy accessory to complement your ensemble than this beige cork clutch that’s topped with a heart-shaped clasp? All you need is this cute clutch to keep your cards, phone and keys in during the event.

Keep your tresses in check with this pair of gold-tone brass hair slides that’s crafted from Italy and set in onyx—only the prettiest finishing touches to your look.

If it gets a little balmy in the evening, this cologne from Jo Malone will ensure you smell absolutely fresh throughout the wedding with notes of orange blossom, Clementine flower and water lily. We love that it isn’t overwhelmingly strong and actually leaves a subtle scent.

Lastly, dab on a slick of colour over your lips with M.A.C’s Versicolour Stain that combines gloss and satin in one fluid formula. Its formula includes emollient oils for a comfortable and creamy wear that stays on without cracking or peeling.
