Burberry’s fringed poncho: a brilliant play of texture and prints

More than a year after he was appointed role of CEO at Burberry, Christopher Bailey’s creative game is still going strong, with Burberry Prorsum A/W’15 RTW collection a testament to that fact. One standout in particular that we spotted on the runway was a quirkily beautiful fringed poncho in autumnal hues of amber, teal, and muted green.

As per the collection’s name — Patchwork, Patterns and Prints, the poncho had a mélange of elements going on at the same time: round-mirror details, whipstitched patches, vintage floral quilt-like patchwork, and lastly, a fringed hem. Despite all these, the poncho comes together in a way that Bailey has always achieved with his collections — a modern flair with a touch of old-school Brit. If this doesn’t romanticize the idea of bohemian wanderlust in you, we don’t know what will.
