Adding a dose of colours and textures to the wardrobe for the warmer season is perhaps the most obvious way to embrace the spirit of spring/summer, and Armani Exchange has got that down pat for the coming SS18 collection. For women, the key look is feminine and fresh, but juxtaposed with sporty influences that resonate with this season’s It trends. If you can’t resist logomania in the form of T-shirts and the like, take your pick from T-shirts and cropped tees emblazoned with maxi-logo and slogan — now here’s how you make a statement. But as per every A|X Armani Exchange collection, the fabrics embody a character of its own whether slubbed or appliquéd. Fun comes in the form of colour blocking, summery floral motifs and designs inspired by murals, alongside playful contrasts in the slightest details (metallic shimmer, banding and piping).

The denim game this season has been upped too — the ever-popular skinny jeans take centre stage once again, along with a multitude of options i.e. baggier, boyfriend-style jeans, flared legs, and even some with dégradé washes. For the men’s collection, an urban attitude is injected throughout the lineup with notable sportswear elements. Made with the young, urban, city-slicker in mind, the collection offers bold, maxi-logo T-shirts and hoodies paired with leggings (faintly reminiscent of Eastern references). The colour palette is kept subdued but with a few surprises here and there — various shades of blue, black and white, army green and a dash of fluorescent hues. Those who like the preppy, collegiate look can opt for sweaters worn over plaid shirts and varsity jackets.
