BURO Spotlights: Thom Browne Opens Its First Store in Malaysia

Thom Browne expands its presence in Southeast Asia with the launch of its first Malaysian boutique at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Located on the third floor, the newly opened store channels the brand’s distinctive office-inspired aesthetic, weaving together the brand’s signature colour palette with a contrast of classic elegance and modern minimalism.

Grey marble walls ground the space in understated luxury, while built-in window blinds, fluorescent lighting, glass display cabinets, and minimalist desks create the ambience of a mid-century corporate setting.

Beyond the interiors, the boutique offers a thoughtfully curated selection of ready-to-wear and accessories. Timeless staples such as the sweatshirt, cardigan and sportcoats—all of which are embellished with the iconic 4-bar—showcase the brand’s unmistakable blend of sporty ease and preppy elegance. A touch of whimsy comes in the form of animal-shaped bags, notably the beloved Hector bag in both baguette and crossbody styles. 

Another highlight is the house’s latest collection, which reimagines signature classics with a contemporary spin. Plaids, stripes, handwoven madras, and soft corduroy take on playful proportions and striking colours, staying true to Thom Browne’s singular vision.

The grand opening was a celebration of style, drawing the city’s most fashionable personalities, including Lynn Lim, Kelvin Yap Kum Kit, Juwei Teoh, Venice Min, Nana Law, and Brian See. The guest list also featured distinguished names such as Izzana Salleh, Terimunite Chandran and Yasmin Mokhzani. Elevating the atmosphere, DJ Daaliah delivered an electrifying set, keeping the energy high with a curated mix of contemporary beats.
