Cloud Dancer Is Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2026—Here’s What to Add to Your Wardrobe

Pantone Colour Institute has named Cloud Dancer its Colour of the Year for 2026. This lofty white succeeds Mocha Mousse and has already stirred conversation. To some, it reads as underwhelming or overly familiar, dismissed as little more than white. But maybe that’s the point.

In a world that rarely slows down, subtlety speaks louder than flash. Cloud Dancer is a visual pause, a shade of white that soothes the senses and gives the mind room to wander. Calm and airy, it invites reflection, helping thoughts settle and return with a little more clarity.

You don’t have to look far for inspiration. The Spring/Summer 2026 runways are full of it. Jonathan Anderson opened his Dior womenswear show with Cloud Dancer, reimagining the House’s iconic bow as a sculptural mini dress. Light, soft, yet striking, it proved that simplicity can still make a statement.

Across debut collections, Louise Trotter at Bottega Veneta, Glenn Martens at Maison Margiela, and Matthieu Blazy at Chanel each offered a different take on the colour, exploring texture and craftsmanship. Layered fabrics, weaving techniques, and tactile finishes transformed what could have been plain white into something rich, dimensional, and unexpectedly intriguing.

Off the runway, the appeal of Cloud Dancer is just as obvious and much easier to bring into your wardrobe. Chances are, you already own pieces in this shade, whether it’s a crisp shirt, a flowing dress, or a softly structured jacket. Its minimalist nature makes styling effortless, working just as well with neutrals as it does with bolder tones.

As fashion continues to shift between spectacle and restraint, Cloud Dancer feels timely. It champions thoughtfulness, and adding it to your wardrobe isn’t about following trends—it’s about refining the pieces you already love. Below, we’ve curated a selection of pieces that prove Cloud Dancer can be expressive and anything but ordinary.
