Shopping for new party heels? Look to Salvatore Ferragamo’s new refracted design for Autumn/Winter 2019

If you’re a fan of Paul Andrew‘s flower heel design from 2017, the latest geometric shape introduced for Autumn/Winter 2019 may be right up your alley. “The Refracted follows the Flower heel, which was itself based on the revolutionary 1939 Column heel designed by Salvatore Ferragamo“, says Andrew.

The new statement heel has a prismatic shape, and is cut like a diamond with its multi-faceted face. Andrew revealed the design is meant to “reflect the rich diversity of the world we live in today”. He continues, “I wanted to propose a reflection of the world around us in 2019. The heel is designed to showcase the beauty of irregularity and variousness – a core element of the Patchwork of Characters philosophy that has been guiding our design team for several seasons now – by allowing for the play of light and surface in apparently random manner. Every time you look at a Refracted heel it will appear different. This is not its flaw, but its power.” If the unusual form doesn’t catch your eye, the light that strikes and bounces off it will. Coated in a metallic shell, the high shine finish combined with the laser-carved structure gives off unpredictable refractions of light.

The refracted heel is available in a range of styles, which include versatile strappy heels (in metallic and rhinestone finishes), Mary Janes (in suede, patent leather and glitter) and edgy ankle boots. There’s a pair suited for everyone with its wide range of heel heights and metallic finishes. Buro’s pick? We recommend the yellow gold in the 8cm height for the ultimate party heel!
