Versace gets a new home in Madrid

As the third-largest city in the European Union and the headquarters of the World Tourism Organisation, Madrid is the perfect destination to de-stress and find your center, particularly after the hectic schedule of fashion month. As further enticement, Versace is now the proud occupant of 420 sqm 0f pure luxury in the heart of Madrid’s Salamanca district. A collaboration between Donatella Versace and English architect, Jamie Fobert, the boutique will house the full range of the brand’s prêt-à-porter and accessories collections. “In fulfilling this project Jamie Fobert has created a space in which the new Versace spirit can take flight.” says Versace. “For me the boutique suggests an uninterrupted dialogue between our past and our future, between me and Jamie Fobert and obviously between Versace and our clients.” Mosaic floors inspired by Byzantine churches of the ninth century are contrasted again ultra-modern perspex walls and shelving, giving the illusion of floating in mid-air. It’s the perfect environment to relax and enjoy the Versace vibe: retail therapy of the highest order.
