Primetime Emmy Awards 2019: Most outstanding red carpet looks

Some may not know that The Emmy Awards is a two-weekend shindig. Last week we saw The Primetime Creative Arts Emmy awards, where the gentlemen of Queer Eye took home not one, not two but four awards that night.

The main event—The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards took place earlier at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Game of Thrones won the title for ‘Outstanding Drama Series’ and the women of Westeros did not disappoint when it came to their final red carpet ensembles as the cast of Game of Thrones. Gwendoline Christie may not be royalty on the show but she was definitely a queen on the red carpet with a Roman Empire-inspired kaftan dress by Gucci. A personal favourite on the red carpet, Carice van Houten was a quirky haindpainted dress from Roland van der Kemp. We usually see Lena Headey a femme fatale so her ruffled floral gown by Brock Collection was a nice surprise.

The younger lead actresses chose to formally exit their roles in more sleek and subtle ensembles. Emilia Clarke stunned in a muted yet plunging Valentino dress, Sophie Turner was a vision in a white belted dress from Louis Vuitton while Maisie Williams donned a multi-strapped polkadoted number by JW Anderson.
