Surprise, surprise! Givenchy and Onitsuka Tiger is the collab you never knew you needed. At the Givenchy menswear show at Pitti Uomo, models strutted down the runway in black or white Mexico 66 shoes, complete with the shoe brand’s Tigerstripe lines and Givenchy’s lettering on the other side. This marks the first time the French Maison has ever worked with a sneaker brand on such a large scale, as well as Onitsuka Tiger, with a luxury fashion house.

Two days after their Men’s SS20 show, Saint Laurent has unveiled a new cultural and creative concept store, dubbed the Rive Droite (as a nod to the brand’s rive gauche line). Conceptualised by creative director Anthony Vaccarello, he told WWD the reasoning behind this concept, where it’s anything like its other minimalist stores. If you’re ever in town, drop by 213, rue saint Honoré (the former Colette space) to check out the extensive offerings, from exclusive pieces and limited editions to a library, vinyls and photography—we can foresee ourselves hanging in-store for hours.

Itching to shop? Gucci is giving you a good reason to, as its Towards Summer collection is now in stores. To complement the hot weather at this time of the year (although for us in Malaysia, it’s all year long), the brand has introduced a series of lighter-weight clothing and bags in summer-appropriate materials that are perfect for your beach holidays. The accessories such as its popular slip-on moccasins, the structured Sylvie bag, and the GG Marmont 2.0 line have all been given the straw and raffia treatment, with panels of leather and gold hardware to give them an elevated finish. Check out the pieces in the Gucci stores now.

Creative director Nicola Glass has been giving Kate Spade New York a makeover since she took over the helm in late 2017, and the stores, similarly, also reflect her new vision. At the Suria KLCC store’s grand opening last week, South Korean actress Oh Yeon Seo (who’s most recently known for her work as the lead actress in My Sassy Girl) made a special appearance at the event, alongside our local celebrities, such as Scha Alyahya, DeFam, Jasmine Suraya Chin and more. It was a grand night.

After 52 years in the fashion industry, Ralph Lauren has been made an Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) for Services to Fashion. Presented by Prince Charles in a private ceremony at the Buckingham Palace, Lauren is the first American fashion designer to be presented with a knighthood. Aside from his empire, the designer is also a philanthropist, establishing The Ralph Lauren Centre for Cancer Research back in 2016.

Karl Lagerfeld honoured at ‘Karl For Ever’ celebration in Paris

Four months after Karl Lagerfeld passed away at the age of 85, the Houses of Chanel, Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld came together for a one-of-a-kind celebration as a tribute to the fashion legend. Aptly titled Karl For Ever, the event was directed and staged by Robert Carsen. A step into the Grand Palais and you’ll notice the series of portraits that were hung throughout. The memorial featured a tapestry of videos that were filmed during his life, alongside performances by A-list celebrities who adored (and were adored by) Karl Lagerfeld. Actresses Tilda Swinton, Cara Delevingne, Helen Mirren and more recited excerpts from works by his favourite authors; Argentinian choreographer German Cornejo, pianist Lang Lang, and artist and Chanel ambassador Pharell Williams were all on stage to pay homage to the icon.
