The highly anticipated Dior saddle bag is now available in stores
The iconic Dior saddle bag is riding its way back into stores today. Close to two decades since its debut in the dawn of the millennium (by then Creative Director, John Galliano), here lies the next wave of a resurrected trend from the early aughts. Loved and popularised by the influential set in the early 2000's, like Beyoncé (way back when she was the lead singer of Destiny's Child, pre-Sasha Fierce days), supermodel Elle Macpherson, and fictitious life-pondering New York columnist, Carrie Bradshaw on the hit show Sex and the City, this silhouette soon received a major cult following.
From millennium to millennial, a lot has happened since the Dior Saddle Bag's original debut. Current Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri updated the shape to be larger and more robust for practicality. The revived design sees monochrome leather for the normcore queen, '70s-inspired patchwork and the Oblique monogram for the fan of the classics, and our personal favourites—heavily embellished pieces with finely-beaded embroidery in bright and contrasting colours.
