What the stars wore to the 2016 Museum of Modern Art Film Benefit

At the Museum of Modern Art’s 9th annual film benefit presented by Chanel, the man of the hour was award-winning actor, filmmaker and comedian, Tom Hanks—this year’s honoree whom the audience lauded for his charm, contribution to the industry and pretty much niceness, in general. The crowd who attended were heavyweights in the film, TV and even publishing industry, including Stephen Colbert, Steven Spielberg, Rupert Murdoch, Aaron Eckhart, Emma Watson and more. And as if real life accolades on stage weren’t enough, video tributes poured in for the acclaimed actor, from Oprah Winfrey, Clint Eastwood and Ron Howard. But it wasn’t just about Hanks for the night—the charity benefit’s aim was to raise a hefty sum for the MoMA’s film collection. And as per every glitzy evening involving A-listers, you can only expect the best when it comes to the red carpet, or the arrival photowall, at least. Not surprisingly, stars had their best feet forward in Chanel, such as Poppy Delevingne’s multicoloured lace dress from the Cruise 2017 collection, and Alexa Chung’s black and white ensemble from the Paris in Rome 2016 collection.
