Sneakerheads, rejoice—here are 7 new luxury kicks to add to your to-buy list

2020 has undoubtedly been a challenging year, but like new bag launches, the COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t stopped fashion and sportswear brands from dropping covetable kicks that had sneakerheads riled up. Some of the hottest releases of the year? Adidas Yeezy Quantum, Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 270 React, Off-White x Air Jordan IV, and last but not least, Dior x Air Jordan 1. If you didn’t manage to score yourself any of these pair, fret not, as an array of luxury fashion houses have dropped their latest sneaker lines that will satiate your thirst for cool new shoes—just in time to end the year with a bang.

Below, the new sneaker drops from Louis Vuitton, Dior, Versace, and more:

Louis Vuitton Trainer Denim & Tricolour

The French Maison has launched not one, but two designs under the Trainer line, which made its debut during Men’s artistic director Virgil Abloh’s very first show back in June 2018. The LV Trainer Denim, in particular, features Monogram denim in different shades of blue, while the LV Trainer Tricolour—inspired by basketball sneakers—is introduced in white calf leather with pops of blue and red. Both shoes are adorned with Monogram flowers on the outsole, the brand’s logo on its tongue, and the highlight of it all, a special AW20 logo design on the side. Each pair requires seven hours of stitching work.

Dior B27

Hot off the heels of the Dior x Air Jordan 1 launch, creative director Kim Jones has released a new pair of covetable kicks. Dubbed the B27, the kicks are inspired by a range of references, from vintage ‘80s style to the skateboarding culture. Crafted from smooth calf leather and nubuck, the shoes’ focal points are the Dior Oblique and Dior Oblique Galaxy prints that are iconic and instantly recognisable. Like many of its sneaker designs, the new pair exudes a vibe that’s equal parts sporty and polished. Available in low and high designs, the first collection comes in three fail-proof colours—white, black and grey.

Versace Trigreca sneakers

After making its debut on the Autumn/Winter 2020 runway, Versace’s new Trigreca sneakers are finally available in stores. Inspired by the Maison’s emblematic Greca pattern that symbolises infinity and unity, the sneakers feature the geometric motif on three different parts—the dimensional sole, the midsole, and the upper-toe stripe. Aside from that, you can also find the brand’s geographical coordinates in Milan printed on the upper, as well as a hidden 3D Medusa logo in the sole. On top of black and white, the shoes are also introduced in eye-catching hues such as green, blue, red, and more.

Giorgio Armani Emom

Looking for more chunky sneakers to add to your collection? Giorgio Armani’s new launch might just be the perfect pair. Part of its Autumn/Winter 2020 collection, the Emom line—named after the acronym of “each minute on minute”—features an array of basketball-inspired trainers. The designs are characterised by the fussbett in leather, and they’re available in a juxtaposition of micro-perforated fabric and suede and calf materials.

Zegna Triple Stitch

Unlike the rest of the shoes on our list, the Zegna Triple Stitch can be worn with almost any ensemble, thanks to its über polished design that amps up its versatility. The focal point of the sneakers is the triple crossed elastic that not only lets you slip in and out of them with ease, but it also represents the brand’s iconic three hand-stitches that can be found on its other products. To make it the ideal pair for daily wear, the Triple Stitch is re-engineered with more lightweight and flexible construction.

Christian Louboutin Loubishark

Christian Louboutin has never been a brand that shies away from a more-is-more aesthetic, and when it comes to its new AW20 sneakers, it’s no different. The Loubishark line features sneakers that are crafted from a total of 13 different components that give it the wow factor. Take a look at the design and you’ll be drawn to the oversized moulded ridges that are reminiscent of the Maison’s signature spikes, but some of the other noteworthy details include the rubber lattice cage on the heel that is inspired by the architecture of its Galerie Véro Dodat boutique, and the two spikes adorning the pull tab.
