On our radar: Topman's 'Fine Tailoring' by Charlie Casely-Hayford
The right cut

With London Fashion Week Men's just around the corner, one exciting collaboration due to drop this month is Charlie Casely-Hayford's 'Fine Tailoring' collection for Topman. One half of the dynamic, father-and-son duo behind Casely-Hayford, the young designer's repertoire include styling for musicians such as the UK's XX and American hip-hop artist Nas. If his sartorial techniques are anything to go by, you can expect a modern yet meticulously curated series of timeless suits from this collaboration.
"I wanted to create a unique statement by designing a series of suits that were forward thinking in their approach – retaining Savile Row detailing such as a half canvas and a working cuff and combining those elements with a streamlined and modernist Topman outlook." - Charlie Casely-Hayford
The lineup includes 10 crafted suits catered to all needs, including weekend, occasion, wedding, and work. The weekend category consists of two styles made of technical and stretch wool fabrics for ease of movement, while the occasion wear includes three tuxedo jackets. One of the standouts is a teal velvet tuxedo designed with a signature Casely-Hayford silhouette and comes with a split shawl. While the wedding suits sport a more traditional silhouette, real horn buttons are used on each three-piece suit for a refined edge.
For a professional setting, the work suits are made of premium Italian wool and features Charlie's hallmark split melton undercollar, while a range of Egyptian cotton shirts are available to complement the suits. The Fine Tailoring collection isn't just for the well-dressed gentleman—ladies who love an androgynous spin to their wardrobes will enjoy the limited edition printed kimono made from pure silk and emblazoned with contemporary prints referenced from the social media age.
The Fine Tailoring by Charlie Casely-Hayford for Topman collection will be exclusively available this 23 June 2017 at Topman, Pavilion KL.
