As Men’s Fashion Week SS20 draws to a close, it’s time for our full breakdown of all the trends spotted on the runways, and what to expect when it comes to this season’s silhouettes, colours, and prints. But before that, we’re focusing on an accessory that gets as much attention as the clothes—sneakers. From the catwalk to the sidewalk, the footwear has proven that it’s here to stay, and below is a guide to all the fresh kicks spotted at Men’s Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2020.
Some of the most notable collections (aside from the Givenchy x Onitsuka Tiger line) include ongoing Nike collaborations with three brands—Comme des Garçons, Off-White x Futura Laboratories, and Sacai. CDG’s design is in the form of an Air Max 95 with deconstructed panels; Off-White and Futura’s is a blue-and-white Dunk Low with blue and orange laces; and Sacai’s LDWaffle kicks are introduced in new black and white colourways. Aside from Off-White, Virgil Abloh also unveiled new footwear at Louis Vuitton; if you’re into sneakers that make a statement, the five-colour design comes with monograms at the back, and an embossed luggage tag cinched to the laces. At Paris Fashion Week, Dior also revealed a few pairs designed in partnership with American artist Daniel Arsham, and we can foresee the boot-like high-top—in a translucent material complete with its iconic Oblique print—to be yet another street-style favourite.
