Founder of boutique Shoes Shoes Shoes, Ung Yiu Lin first fell in love with footwear after a scene in female-empowered action flick Charlie’s Angels in 2000. “I remember seeing on the big screen, Cameron Diaz running in her thigh-high Michel Perry boots. Women can truly do anything in heels!”
And the rest, they say, is history. Juggling between being a mother of three young children, running a business while maintaining an active social life on Instagram, Yiu Lin manages to pull it all off with ease…and impeccable style.
Having to wear many hats in a day, the fashionable entrepreneur believes that women don’t look at shoes as a singular. “I only need one shoe in my life. Said, no woman ever!”. “I can’t live without shoes because I feel it lets us express ourselves our different personalities”, and usually starts out her day in flats when she’s running errands, and onwards to a business meeting, she’ll throw on a pair of killer black heels.
Yiu Lin’s must-haves
1) The classic black boot
“What I love about these Michel Perry boots is that they are timeless. I like the ruching detail that begins at the toe and it’s also a good heel height. A classic black boot, with a little bit of a twist!”
2) The animal print heel
“They really express your personality and all of us women do love animal print. It’s quite a fun bootie and is perfect for the KL weather because it has cutouts at the side”
3) The party heel
“These are from a brand called Schutz from Brazil. They speak volumes because it’s such an interesting shoe with the layers of fringe and metal chains”
