LOOKBOOK: Moschino Pre-Fall 2022

Jeremy Scott goes graphic for Moschino’s latest line-up, unveiling a ‘60s sci-fi dystopia for pre-fall 2022 womenswear and fall 2022 menswear. Inspired by the likes of Op Art pioneer Victor Vasarely’s trippy illusions, painter Richard Lindner’s machine-like figures work and Allen Jones’ bondage sculptures, the collection combined the super saturated worlds of A Clockwork Orange and Bladerunner with the swinging mod rhythm of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band for a colour-blocked cotillion of statement-making double-breasted dresses and military-style jackets topped off with bowler hats in tangerine and lavender. There was also space-age hoods with chevron prints over bustier tops and square-shouldered frocks, while the finale series of more optical opulence offered a repeating circular disc theme across a column dress, shawl lapel tuxedo and belted coat-dress rendered absolutely hypnotising.
