Quintessentially quirky

LFW SS16: Christopher Kane

A theme of “crash and repair” ran through the catwalk at Christopher Kane—multicoloured cable ties pulled together looks here and there, securing ponytails and doubling as chokers, bracelets and belts.

There was an eclectic fragmented look about the collection; from bold coloured plastic inserts and quirky patchwork, to fringes and lace, seemingly everyday motifs taken apart and put together for an unconventional fashion statement—but Kane being Kane, they make sense in the most bizarre of ways. Plastic pockets, anyone?

The accompanying accessories were equally as eccentric: matching envelope clutches with spiked edges, handbags with plastic handles, fringe detailing, and snakeskin patterns completed the looks with the brand-essential quirk.
